The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria
The 2026 RUN! GEEK! RUN! beneficiary is the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria.
The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria (SFA) helps academically qualified students with financial need from Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) afford a postsecondary education. We are supported through Alexandria City Public Schools, the Alexandria City community and Alexandria City High School (ACHS) alumni and staff, corporate partners, and individual donors.
The SFA encourages and assists ACPS students by providing them with necessary resources to access and complete a college, technical or career program of postsecondary education. The SFA is the go-to resource at ACHS for navigating financial aid. We award more than 200 scholarships annually. We are not just getting students to college, we are getting them through college. The SFA stands behind each recipient with financial need and renews their scholarship for four years.
Having served the students of ACHS since 1986, the SFA has seen generations of success stories. Past scholarship recipients now proudly parent recent recipients.

About RUN! GEEK! RUN!
RUN! GEEK! RUN! benefits a different Alexandria-based non-profit each year. Our 19th annual race benefits the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria.
RUN! GEEK! RUN!’s success is dependent upon its sponsors. Sponsorship provides companies and organizations with the opportunity to give back to the local community while receiving varying levels of visibility online and offline in front of the local area consumer and business community.

More than just a mascot, he was born and raised in Northern Virginia and is the epitome of a geek. After creating a programming curriculum for middle schoolers, he was asked to become the ambassador of RUN! GEEK! RUN!

RUN THE RACE!
RUN! GEEK! RUN! is always the LAST Sunday in September at 8:30 a.m. The race takes place in Alexandria, VA, with the starting line between George Washington Middle School and the Braddock Road metro stop.
VOLUNTEER!
To ensure the success of RUN! GEEK! RUN! we need volunteers! Volunteers can hand out water, serve as course marshals, and provide support at the finish line. This is a great way to get involved if you don’t want to run or walk the course.
