The 2024 RUN! GEEK! RUN! beneficiary is Life with Cancer at Inova Schar Cancer.
For more than forty years, Life with Cancer at Inova Schar Cancer has offered psychosocial support and education including integrative therapies, wellness programs, groups and classes for patients and their families both during and after cancer treatment. Based on an evidence-based, integrative approach, certified skilled oncology nurses and licenses therapists provide support throughout the continuum of care. Life with Cancer relies on philanthropy and their services are available to the entire community, at no cost to participants.

RUN! GEEK! RUN! 5K benefits a different Alexandria-based non-profit each year. Our 17th Annual race benefits Life with Cancer at Inova Schar Cancer.
RUN! GEEK! RUN!’s success is dependent upon its sponsors. Sponsorship provides companies and organizations with the opportunity to give back to the local community while receiving varying levels of visibility online and offline in front of the local area consumer and business community.

More than just a mascot, he was born and raised in Northern Virginia and is the epitome of a geek. After creating a programming curriculum for middle schoolers, he was asked to become the ambassador of RUN! GEEK! RUN!

RUN THE RACE!
This year, the RUN! GEEK! RUN! 5K race will be held tentatively on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. The race will take place in Alexandria, VA, with the starting line between George Washington Middle School and the Braddock Road metro stop.
VOLUNTEER!
To ensure the success of RUN! GEEK! RUN! we need volunteers! Volunteers can hand out water, serve as course marshals, and provide support at the finish line. This is a great way to get involved if you don’t want to run or walk the course.
